Diabetic Friendly: Low Carb, Low sugar, Whole wheat. I hate substituting real sugar with fake sugar. I've never been a fan.  I will have you know that my A1C (for you who know what that is...) is well within "normal". But sometimes it's nice to not have recipes that kill my blood sugar.
